LOVE THIS IRON!!!
Okay so I am a guy who bought a bunch of new dress shirts for a new job... Only thing is that I forgot about the dry cleaning bills and... Well... Ironing takes to long. So I researched this model steam iron and decided to take the plunge. Pretty hefty price until you do the math on time and money saved if you were to have them professionall pressed. This thing is great. Ironing has never been so easier. I actually don't mind doing it because I know I will get a perfect result each time. The steam part is a bit of a gimmick. I spray the shirts and pants with distilled water prior to pressing. And yes... Of course you have to make sure the item being pressed is completely flat before pressing it. Any other method would defy the primary principles related to ironing... Which would be to remove wrinkles. And yes, as with any new tool you also must practice a few times to get into the rhythm. And yes the top plate gets HOT (as any reputable iron would...) so be careful when moving the cloths around. I find that there is plenty of room with the jaw open to position cloths accordingly. To me this thing puts the "fun" back into Funironing.

Learning curve, but I really like using this in conjunction with an iron
There is definitely a learning curve to using this, but I suppose you could say that about general ironing/laundry as well. I was hoping to not have to use an iron anymore, but now I’m figuring out when to use the press and when to use the basic iron. I am hoping with practice I become more proficient because right now I’m not saving any time or energy by using this instead of an iron. I will say, for items that were left in the bottom of a basket or for pressing cargo pants/uniform shirts, this has been great for getting the pocket flaps flattened.

Great machine- long term review
I can't say enough good things about this machine. I've had it for nearly two years so I know what I'm talking about. If you are considering this, I say go for it, you won't regret it. Heats up in a reasonable time, is great for larger jobs- I am a fashion design student so lots of fabric ironing for me! I also use it in place of a heat press and if you are doing small jobs this is great for that. It has a timer which goes off when it's done doing a section. I once forgot to turn it off and left for work but it automatically turned off itself. Steam setting works like it says in the description and for larger projects it is really perfect but I don't really use it a lot. I prefer using the spray bottle to damp my clothes because when I am doing projects that don't require steam I don't want any water accidentally leaking unto it! But that's just personal preference. This thing can get really hot on certain settings, no more than a really good iron I suspect but it's a larger surface so be aware of that. Burnt myself a couple of times moving my clothes around but that was user error. You'll still need a regular household iron for clothes that require lots of maneuvering. I can never get it to iron my shorts properly without leaving new wrinkles as my shorts are too small to fit over the work surface so I have to put the whole thing, front and back, under it. All in all I say it was well worth every penny I used on it. I have it on a table and when I'm ready to iron I just open it and turn it on. No taking out ironing board and trying to set it up in my small space. I have to say I wish the work area was bigger but that's because I use it to iron fabric. I don't see why it would be a problem for the everyday user. Plus I've found ways to iron the fabric without getting one side wrinkled while I finish the other side. Great purchase that lasts long. The reviewers who are complaining that this is bad must have gotten a bad machine but this is one of my better buys and I would certainly purchase again!

LOVE LOVE LOVE MY STEAM FAST SF-680
I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS STEAM PRESS. My husband has always had me take his jeans to the laundry to have them starched (this ain't cheap😠). Since he has gotten older and a little thicker in the middle he finds it harder to get those jeans buttoned! I now wash them and dry for a few minutes and try to crease by hand as much as possible and put on a hanger to dry. Then I use my regular steam iron to press, which has proven to be difficult for me. Those Wrangler jeans are thick and tough! Hence the reason for the steam press! It is amazing and doesn't take long at all. As you begin to fool around with this press you figure out the ways to turn things on the press you can iron lots of other things besides jeans. It puts the best crease in any kind of pants....not only jeans but my cotton chinos and my dress slacks as well. I have had this thing 3 days and love it. My husband said maybe I should wait a little longer to review it, but I couldn't! I will update this review if something goes wrong with it!

Works great, saves time, saves $
Okay, so I read reviews before buying so I should leave one for others. First off I'd like to say I purchased this not to save time but to have professionally pressed looking clothing. The steam press saves time and makes clothes look great. I really love how it works, and as a bonus it does save time. It takes a little technique but I got it down after only a few pieces of clothing. ( you tube has videos) I bought a stand but ended up returning it, it fits on my counter fine and wasn't as bulky as I expected. I'm a small female so the size works well for my clothes. I can image a larger person will need to manuever the clothing more as the pressing surface isn't that big. It's sturdy and seems well built, i'm happy with my purchase.

Saves time and easy to use.
I use this Press mostly for jeans. It does the job well and is faster than using an iron. Here's more details: When using on jeans I usually only have to press one side. Hence, the shorter time spent pressing. I keep a spray bottle of water handy just in case. However, the built-in steaming usually does the job of getting stubborn wrinkles out. And many times I don't have to use the steam at all. Keep in mind that when using the steam you have to pull the top down to within 3 - 4 inches away from your fabric, press the steam button for 2 or 3 seconds then release the steam button and lower the top onto your fabric. Never press the steam button while top is in contact with the fabric (closed position). That could damage the machine. The water container is sealed which comes in handy because I store the unit upright on its base. It also has a locking feature when closed to allow you to carry or store the unit. I like the easy to use digital heat setting and the warning sound that will alert you when the top is down for more that 7 - 8 seconds. It will also shut off after several minutes of being idle. Hint: Each time you plug the unit in, the lowest heat setting is the default. For more precise pressing in hard to do and small places, you may want to keep a regular iron handy. Personally, I haven't done that yet. But, I could see where the extra smaller iron would be needed. If you have never tried a Steam Press, I highly recommend that you at least give it a try. You just might be glad you did.

If you have room in your laundry, this is the ticket for folks with ironing fetishes.
This is my third Steampress. I love them. When I'm on a roll, I'll even iron my pillow cases like when I was a child- such a good feeling. And ironing tees make them look new. Nothing else will work for those dining rm linens. The one that just died lasted me 20 years. So much better than an iron. Just takes some practice for a novice.

Perfect for fusible batting!
I absolutely love this steam press. It's the first I've ever used and I bought it as I make pet products and needed it for pressing fusible batting to fabric and wanted the larger size so I could do bigger areas. So happy with my purchase and it's saving a tremendous amount of time!

I don't usually leave feedback because things are usually just what they are, but this press is amazing! I found a video on YouTube that demonstrated the right way to use this and let me just say that I love owning this press. It used to take me 15 minutes to press my 3xl dress shirts, now I can professionally press a shirt in about 6 minutes. Amazing!

Excellent So Far... Follow Instructions and it will work nicely.
I have used my Steam Press for two days now. I followed the instructions carefully and have had beautiful results so far. I like pressed linens and it did a better than expected job on our King flat sheet. My dinner napkins look perfect! My husband’s shorts and shirts look like they came from the Dry Cleaner. I’m hoping only for the best with this product. I am a little Leary of it spitting oil, particularly on our fine Italian sheets, as I have seen on the photos from other reviews. Do NOT remove the water reservoir, maybe this is why it is cracking for some users. The instructions say not to remove it as it will then be damaged. It takes a little patience to smooth out the item you are pressing but the results are worth the time. Just be careful when moving fabric from back of the press forward. I purchased this because I have an injury to my right thumb and this is helping relieve the discomfort of holding my heavy iron. I have a steam generator iron as well, which is light, but this is superior for certain items. As of now I am giving it 5 stars. Truly, I love it!
